An enthusiastic crowd of about 50 residents came for the Christmas Light festivities on Dec. 16th. The weather was remarkably mild in the upper 40s.

A burn barrel was set up for a little warmth (thanks to our friends at the Highway Dept.). The ARD Student Council sold cookies, brownies, and hot chocolate. People partook of the refreshments while waiting for the Santa Parade to arrive.

We had a great time together and the Santa Parade around the town was fantastic with police cruisers leading Santa and his EDC elves on Santa's sled, and four Fire Dept. trucks with lights flashing and sirens blaring. An EDC member was riding shotgun in the lead cruiser and giving turn by turn directions. After arriving at Town Hall, Santa and the elves came over to mingle with the attendees.

EDC leaders Lisa Lemire and Michael Frascinella announced and handed out the awards, and after that they led the audience in singing several Christmas carols. At the end, they wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Let's do this again next year!

Santa Parade on December 16

As a special treat for the youngsters, Santa and his sled will parade through the town with a Police Dept. and Fire Dept. escort, starting from the Allenstown Police Station and ending at Town Hall. Santa and his elves will give candy to waiting children as they travel though town ending at Town Hall. Here are street by street maps of the parade (4 MB PDF File).
