Upcoming General Election Message from Town Clerk and Moderator

Dear Allenstown Voters:

The General Election is almost here—Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020, at the Saint John the Baptist Parish Hall. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  We expect a large turnout, which is great, but it also means that there may be lines.  We will do our best to provide all Allenstown residents with a safe and efficient voting experience!

As you know, the Parish Hall is fairly small, so we will again have only 3 check in lines to allow as best we can for healthy social distancing. We request that you wear a mask (even if you don’t think they work) to provide the maximum safety and comfort for our poll workers, many of whom work all day long, and for other voters.

If you cannot or choose not to wear a mask, please obtain an absentee ballot by contacting the town clerk NOW.  You should contact Town Clerk, Kathleen Pelissier, who can provide the absentee application and ballot. You can deliver your ballot by mail (act quickly), in person at the town clerk's office during office hours, or outside at the polling place on Election Day!  Town Clerk IS NOT OPEN November 2, 2020.  If you have an Absentee Ballot, then you need to bring it to the Polling Place at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall in Allenstown!

Did you know that you can track your absentee ballot on the Secretary of State’s web site?  Go to https://sos.nh.gov/elections/voters/absentee-ballots/absentee-ballot-status/.

And one more thing—please be aware that New Hampshire law prohibits wearing any type of clothing or sign advertising a candidate whose name is on the ballot.  See RSA 659:43. This includes shirts, hats, and face masks that may promote any candidate on the November 3rd ballot.  We’re not picking on you—it’s the law!

Thank you for your help in making this a safe and successful election.
