Update: Regional Public Forums on School Funding

Dear NHSBA Members -

The NH School Funding Fairness Project (NHSFFP) is planning to host a set of regional public forums later this month and into early October. The forums will seek to foster a greater understanding of the way in which public schools are funded in New Hampshire, as well as a dialogue among concerned citizens and their prospective elected officials on this vitally important topic.

Each forum will be held remotely via Zoom Webinar and will take place in the evening from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The dates and corresponding region for each forum are as follows:

September 29 Rockingham County

September 30 Carroll, Coos, and Grafton Counties

October 1Hillsborough County

October 6 Belknap, Merrimack, and Strafford Counties

October 8 Cheshire and Sullivan Counties

Anyone who would like to attend may do so by registering in advance via the Events page of the NHSFFP website: www.fairfundingnh.org/events.

Each forum will feature an introductory overview by NHSFFP of New Hampshire's current school funding system and its shortcomings, followed by a short panel discussion among invited local residents, who will share their own perspectives on education funding. Candidates for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Senate, and Executive Council will each be afforded an opportunity to offer brief remarks about education funding before the forum is opened to members of the public to express their views and to pose questions to the candidates.

Please note this is not an NHSBA-sponsored event. Please direct all inquiries to the NH School Funding Fairness Project.
