Improvements to the Allenstown Fire Station

coming soon

Dateline: Nov. 02, 2023

Fire Chief Eric Lambert sent the following announcement about upcoming improvements to the Fire Station at Main and Ferry Streets.

"The Allenstown Fire Department continues to move closer to the completion of its second floor. Our progress was catapulted by a donation that will be announced in the very near future.

"The Fire Department Administration, Select Board members, and Town Administrator have been working together to make this mission complete. Many of the department members have worked together with some local contractors to move us along in this project.

"A little history on this project is worth reviewing. The Allenstown Fire Department as it sits today was constructed in the year 2000. Due to financial constraints, the second floor was left unfinished. Over the years some of the needed items were completed either through donations or by our members. Jim Cassidy, a local Scout leader at the time, worked to complete two rooms of the second floor. Others did some framing and other items.

"The goal is to have this completed for this coming Spring. That will allow us to be ready for our coming transition to provide the primary ambulance service within town in July of 2024.

"It has been an amazing journey so far and the pride in all the work is very strong. There is a great group of people working for the department and that helps us to grow with the community. "We look forward to showing off the completion of this project, and announcing who has been a big help in donating to this mission."
