Water Conservation-Pembroke Water Works

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Pembroke Water Works would like to thank those residents and property owners who have taken proactive steps to conserve water and reduce use.  As the drought continues we ask that everyone continue these efforts.

NHDES has reported that 85% of the state is experiencing abnormally dry to severe drought conditions. As a proactive measure Pembroke Water Works is requesting residents to conserve water. We ask that residents voluntarily reduce water usage. With hot weather and minimal rain outside water usage spikes and puts additional strain on the wells used to provide water to our customers. Some tips to help reduce water usage include reducing outside watering to night time or early morning which is the best time to water. When watering during the day up to 50% of the water gets wasted due to evaporation. Watering in the early morning allows the water to saturate before the sun burns it off. Check irrigation heads and make sure they are all functioning properly and please do your best to turn irrigation systems off when it does rain. For additional information please feel free to contact our office and thank you for your cooperation.
