Mailbox placement is very important during the winter months, the USPS has come up with a set of guidelines that need to be followed in order for the town trucks to be able to clean roadways in a storm. Those guidelines can be found here.
If your mailbox is damaged by a snowplow contact the Highway Department at (603) 485-5460 or click here to send an email. A representative of the Highway Department will come out and evaluate the damage. If your mailbox was installed in accordance with the provisions of the ordinance the Highway Department will help you with a temporary mailbox until spring and your mailbox will be repaired according to the town ordinance for mail box placement and replacement.
