COVID19 Alert from Town Election 2021 held on March 9, 2021

It has come to the Town's attention that someone that attended the polling place on March 9, 2021, has come down with the COVID19 Virus.  This person spent a bit of time at the polls talking to a few people.  They were wearing a mask the entire time, and also people that interacted with this person were also thought to being wearing masks.  It has been 10 days since the election, and the incubation period of COVID19 is between 3 to 14 days, but typically symptoms appear between 4 or 5 days after exposure.  A person can be contagious 48 to 72 hours before starting to show symptoms.  With this said, please monitor your temperatures and any symptoms and contact your care provider if you have symptoms.

Given the period of time that has passed since the election, the patient may have contracted the virus after the election.  Still, we wanted to reach out to the community to just keep you informed about the potential exposure.  Given that our COVID19 numbers currently stand at 1-4 cases, we believe that any exposure was contained.  Thank You for wearing a mask when visiting the polling place, and even when visiting the town office and other facilities.

We are looking forward to the pandemic being over and getting back to the old normal!
