*Reducing Power Rates* Looking for people to serve on the Town of Allenstown Community (Power) Committee

The Community Power Committee will help to move Community Power in Allenstown forward by performing the necessary outreach to develop a Community Power Plan.  This plan will detail the energy priorities of Allenstown.  Once a Community Power Plan is developed, then it will go to the voters in March for approval at the polls.

What is Community Choice Aggregation?  Community Choice Aggregation allows the Town of Allenstown along with several other communities, to combine all of its residential electricity use, and Town owned buildings and commercial entities into one large energy user.

RFP's are then solicited for energy supply pricing.  This has proven to create savings over what a residential customer or commercial small energy user can obtain on their own for energy supply costs.  This method provides better savings over the PUC's standard offeror individual private supplier contracts.

Each customer can still choose either the town contract, the standard offer, or a private energy contract for electricity supply.

The Pwer Committee will assist in developing the Power Plan for Allenstown and help to survey and educate Allenstown on the program and the community's energy goals.

Attached is some more information about Community Choice Aggregation and Energy Supplies, and how Community Choice Aggregation works.

Contact Derik Goodine, Town Administrator for more information or if interested in serving on this committee!
