Update for May 22, 2021 Schedule of Flag Raising -Flags for Forgotten Heroes Installment May 15, 2021 - and - Spring 2021 POW/MIA Flag Raising Event May 22, 2021

US, POWKIA, NH

See the attached two flyers for more information about these two great events honoring our heroes!

Flags for Forgotten Heroes Flag Installment will take place at the Allenstown Police Dept. lawn on May 15th.  There will be a ceremony at 10am with a short presentation of the what and why, along with pledge allegiance, National Anthem and presentation of flags.  Flags will be planted into the ground by volunteers.  There will be a few tables set up for information about our organization and suicide prevention, information about Home Town Heroes Banners and other supporting organizations like Rolling Thunder®.  We plan to have veterans and/or active military personnel in attendance representing the military branch they serve(d).  Also we are looking to have various 1st responders in attendance, along with explorers and young cadets.  We expect a good turn out as there has been a lot of positive conversation around town about the installment.  The flags will remain in place through June 21st.

Spring 2021 POW/MIA Flag raising event - May 22, 2021. The goal of this event is to educate the public and raise awareness around the POW/MIA issues.  This initiative has been backed on the federal level with the passing of the law in 2019 mandating the flag be flown at prominent federal buildings and national war memorials throughout the year.  For the May 22nd event, currently several Allenstown municipal sites are signed up to participate, including the Community Center, as well as business such as Airgas and Pembroke Pines Country Club.  There will be opportunity at each site for onlookers to be present and a flyer with the schedule of stops will be forthcoming.

If you know of any veterans/currently enlisted personnel that reside in Allenstown that would be interested in participating, please share this information with them and have them contact me.  They would simply be asked to stand with the speaker and to potentially place a flag that represents their military branch.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your support!
