Allenstown Community Power Aggregation Committee

RESOLUTION (November 28, 2022, Revised January 9, 2023)

WHERE AS, the Town of Allenstown has a desire to conserve energy and save its residents money on their electric bills.  The Board of Selectmen hereby creates the Allenstown Community Power Aggregation Committee.

The Allenstown Community Power Aggregation Committee shall be responsible for engaging the community by soliciting information and promoting energy efficiency in Allenstown.  From their work, the Town will design and create an energy plan and participate in a Community Choice Aggregation Program, which will allow it and its citizens to have an Allenstown competitive wholesale power purchase agreement in place which should be less expensive than the current standard offer for electricity and private company offerings to Allenstown residents.

Mission Statement: To provide the best electricity value for the citizens of Allenstown while providing choices in renewable energy

Membership should consist of seven (7) members appointed by the Board of Selectmen for 3 Year Terms.  Two members may be members of the Board of Selectmen, and two members may be employees of the Town.
