Assessing Department
The Assessing Department’s primary function is to ensure that all property within the Town of Allenstown is assessed fairly and in accordance with the New Hampshire laws governing property assessment. The Assessing Office conducts various practices to ensure an equitable distribution of the property tax. Assessments are based on fair market value of property and are applied in a fair, equitable and consistent manner.
In addition, information regarding: assessments, elderly tax exemptions, veteran credits, tax deferrals, current use assessments, conservation restriction assessments, abatement requests, timber cut intents and excavation intents are available through this office. Physical data on buildings and land, as well as property ownership information can also be found in this office.
